Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to the most common questions about our hydraulic metal recycling equipment, customization options, delivery, installation, and after-sales support.

How do I choose the right machine for my scrap?

Four things decide it: the material you process, the throughput you need (tonnes per hour or per day), your target bale size and density, and how you load the machine. Send us those details and we will recommend the model and configuration — usually within 12 hours.

Horizontal baler or vertical baler — which one do I need?

Horizontal balers (Y81 series, 130 t to 2,000 t) are built for continuous, higher-volume baling with automatic feeding and bale ejection — the usual choice for scrap yards and processing centres. Vertical balers (YJ series, 30 t to 460 t) have a small footprint and a lower investment, and suit light scrap, smaller daily volumes, tyre wire, and sites with limited space.

Gantry shear or alligator shear?

Gantry shears (Y10Y series, 300 t to 2,000 t) have a large cutting chamber and take oversized, bulky and mixed scrap — baled material, car bodies, demolition steel, pipes. Alligator shears (Q43Y series, 130 t to 600 t) are compact or mobile and cut long, irregular pieces quickly on site. Many yards run both: a gantry shear for heavy scrap, an alligator shear for fast cutting.

What is the difference between pressing force and cutting force?

Pressing force is the compression force of a baler — it decides how dense a bale you can make. Cutting force is the blade force of a shear — it decides how thick a material you can cut. They are different measurements, and their tonnage figures are not directly comparable.

Can one machine both bale and cut?

Yes. Our baler-shear combos pre-press, side-compress and shear in a single machine, which suits mixed scrap and car bodies where you want dense bales cut to length. Tell us the material and target bale size and we will confirm the right combination.

Do you supply fully automatic machines?

Yes — manual, semi-automatic and fully automatic versions. Feeding method (conveyor, grab or manual), bale ejection and control level are configured to your site, and the electrical supply is built to your local standard.

What materials can your machines process?

Light steel scrap, car bodies, steel shavings, aluminium, copper, brass, stainless steel and baling wire — plus waste paper and cardboard on dedicated models.
